Reel Women provides educational opportunities for its members to learn about aspects of the film and video industries.

Workshops give member the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals, as well as providing networking opportunities.

The Production Group offers excellent opportunities for learning new skills (from operating equipment or writing a budget to breaking down a script), working as a team, networking, developing leadership abilities, becoming resourceful (finding props, locations or funding) and taking a project from pre-production through completion.

• In following with our mission, the Production Group is for FEMALE Reel Women members only.
• A winning script is selected through a screenwriting competition and a short film is produced by Reel Women members.
• Members are selected for crew positions through an interview process.
• Experience is not necessary and members are encouraged to take on positions for which they might not normally seem qualified.
• Excellent opportunities for learning new skills (operating equipment, writing a budget, breaking down a script, etc.), working as a team, networking, developing leadership abilities, becoming resourceful (finding props, locations, funding), HAVING FUN and seeing a project from pre-production through completion.
• All participants receive a copy of the production.
• The production is screened at Reel Women meetings and may be screened at other events or venues.

Mentoring opportunities give members the chance to learn from an experienced professional or assist someone just getting started and in need of guidance.
