BEST OF THE AUSTIN 48 Hour Film Project 2011 SCREENING
MONDAY JULY 18, 2011 FROM 6:30-8:30 AT THE ALAMO DRAFTHOUSE SOUTH LAMAR – Join us for the much anticipated event that all the 48 HFP participants look forward to – The Best of Screening! Great food and drink, so plan to bring the family and friends for dinner! Filmmakers from all over the Austin area compete to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world for the title “Best 48 Hour Film of 2011″.
Screening of the TOP TEN films of this year’s competitions! Also screening will be films that may not have been selected for the Top Ten but won an award. The TOP TEN will be announced around July 11. Awards will be given in 12-15 categories. Tickets will be $10 and on sale at the Alamo Drafthouse website. http://www.drafthouse.com
The 48 Hour Film Project came to Austin on the weekend of June 24th. Filmmakers from all over the Austin area will competed to see who can make the best short film in only 48 hours. The winning film will go up against films from around the world. Every minute counts when you only have one weekend to make a film! For the 10th year REEL WOMEN is the local sponsor of this frenzied filmmaking event June 24-26. All completed films will screened at the Marchesa Theater June 28 & 29. The winning Austin film gets some great prizes and gets to continue competition on a national and international level! Some films are selected to go to the Cannes Film Festival!
